Overview
This qualification is regulated by Ofqual (The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation). This means that the UK government has approved the qualification, considering it equivalent to the following: a diploma of higher education (DipHE), a foundation degree, 2 years at university and the CELTA and Trinity CertTESOL qualifications

The course must be completed within 7 months of the start date. We find that the majority of students are able to complete our Level 5 TEFL course in 12 to 16 weeks.
After the successful completion of the course learners will receive their internationally recognised certificate.
This qualification consists of 11 mandatory units, which cover the teaching and learning of English as a foreign language. Learners
must achieve all 29 credits from the 11 mandatory units to pass.

- Principles of teaching English as a foreign language
- Understanding English grammar
- Teaching English grammar
- Teaching English vocabulary
Teaching productive skills:
- Speaking and writing
- Teaching receptive skills
- Listening and reading
- Materials and aids for teaching english
- Teaching pronunciation of English
- Lesson Planning for teaching English as a foreign language
- Teaching English as a foreign language to young learners
- Using resources effectively
Academic referencing e.g. using quotes from text books within learners’ work is a requirement for this qualification, at level 5.
Learners must include references in a bibliography.
This course is suitable for:
