In today’s episode, we look at ‘Proactive approaches to support children who have experienced trauma’.
This series of podcasts seeks to support everybody working in the schools sector to gain an understanding of what we mean by Trauma-informed practice, to understand what good practice in this area looks like and to share practical strategies that can really make a difference. We will consider the best available evidence from the fields of psychology, education research and the health and care sector to help us refine our approaches within the classroom.
In this weeks episode we discuss ‘Proactive approaches to support children who are traumatised’. PACE Therapeutic Parenting is a model of care which helps support and form secure attachments with children and young people who may have experienced difficulties in early life. This way of parenting is being recognised more and more as an effective model. In this podcast, we explore what schools can also learn from this approach to their interactions with students.
